Dominican Republic 2023 Mission Trip
As we approached the Dominican Republic, a country we had only heard about, I was taking pictures of the land. Little did I know that one of the pictures was the bay of Luperon, which is actually the bay where Lex and Renee have their mission house! Our hosts were gracious and so kind, especially with Lynn limping everywhere due to a hurt knee! But praise God, we prevailed and had a wonderful time meeting the people that their ministry, Mission of Hope International are helping. They send teams into the areas of the Dominican Republic where the Haitian migrant workers have settled. We were only able to visit one area called LaGrua due to our short time schedule there.
In LaGrua we saw the deplorable conditions of these beautiful Haitians amidst the rubble. A fire destroyed about 38 families houses and left them without shelter. Many were living in the church building or crammed into lean-to shanties with other families.
We also walked around the village and talked with Lex about the needs of the villagers and the work being done there. Skip and I took crayons, color pages, jump ropes and soccer balls for the children to play with.
While we were there the land was cleared and the footings laid out for a new 29 family housing unit. Since then, the walls have gone up, the roof is on, and 25 families now have shelter. And plans are in place to build more housing.

Honduras 2023 Mission Trip
At the end of February 2023, we had the privilege of traveling with Pastors David and Rhonda Knox and Judy Elrod to San Pedro Sula Honduras. They ministered at a conference in Pastor Ernesto Munoz's church. Skip and I were there to pray and to serve in any capacity needed. We also visited a village where Pastor Ernesto's teams minister to the children and families. The children enjoyed the puppet story Valarie Allard told as well as the songs and dancing. We handed out candy to all the children there.
We went into the mountains and visited a school that Pastor Ernesto built. The children were so happy to see us! We helped serve them lunch and gave away backpack, toys and candy to the children. The mothers received personal care items and clothing.
While in San Pedro Sula, we visited a prison where Valarie and her team ministers. We split up into two teams. Pastor David and Skip ministered to the men while Valarie, Rhonda. Judy and I ministered to the women. And of course, we had small gifts of toiletries, and personal items to give away. (Unfortunately, we were not able to take pictures).
We visited a church in a village just outside of San Pedro Sula where the pastor built a church entirely from wooden pallets which he dismantled and used as boards for the walls. The picture of the partial concrete building is the new building where the church and school will be once it is finished. And of course, we had to go to the ocean and eat at a beautiful ocean side restaurant! It was yummy.

Haiti Mission Trip Photos
In 2011 we began making yearly trips to Haiti. Pastor Sam had a vision to build a Mission House in Boucan-Patriot Haiti and Skip and Lynn began working with him to bring the vision to pass. These pictures are from the different phases of construction.

Boucan-Patrio Mission Trip
On this mission trip we flew right over the village on the way to Port-Au-Prince. We stopped at a store and bought lunch. Boy was I happy to see Pepsi! There are new additions at the mission house which include new stairs at the other end of the house, the cistern now has a pump house and the other cistern has a concrete top. Pastor Sam enclosed the cook's room, and he built a couple of storage sheds.
While we were there we distributed the food from Kids Against Hunger Global that was donated. We were able to ship it because of our awesome supporters. We also ministered in two Sunday morning services; one at the Church of God of Prophecy and the other at the Baptist Church. We gave away toys, underwear and a pair of shoes. The last three pictures were taken by Skip on the alternate route we had to take back to Port-Au-Prince.

July 2018 Mission House and Radio Dedication
Our July 2018 mission trip to Boucan-Patrio Haiti was an eventful and exciting trip! Although the enemy tried to stop our arrival, we persevered and overcame all the obstacles to get there. We were blessed to have our Pastor David Knox with us as well as a team from Pastor Sam's church in Ft. Lauderdale FL. Be sure to visit our News and Tidbits page to read our newsletter.
Here are a few more pictures of the trip.
